Description
Antique ( circa 1814-1916 ) Eveready canister lantern Model 4705. Condition is "Used".Untested Eveready trade mark on the bottomThis is a hard-to-find Eveready #4708 lantern circa 1914 - 1916 in good condition. The switch, bail and bail fasteners are intact . The lantern measures 4-1/2” tall to the top of the push button switch housing , canister is 3” in diameter and the lens housing is 2-5/8” diameter. Dull metal surface with scattered stains and scattered surface rust . Two small superficial hairline cracks that are unnoticeable and does not affect the integrity of the cylinder located at left posterior area and at right lateral area. A small narrow gap at right junction of cylinder and bulb housing, easy to solder. Bulb is present, the lens has no cracks or chips but has a small air bubble at 11 o'clock position. The inside has some very light surface rust here and mininal battery caused corrosion patina but the contacts are perfect. May be brought back to its former glory or left as is for display or as a conversation piece.For the Everready lantern flashlight collector.
