Brass Lamp that takes old fashioned battery on stand. the Brass top says "Made by Federal Sign System (Electric) Chicago USA Federal Safety First Electric Lantern 34578" Patented Feb. 24, 1914 Other patents Pending"The heavy wire legs have finish flaking off and the metal bail handle has some material (
Gutta Percha?)
covering it that is cracking. There is some light rust on the steel that isn't covered on the handle.
There is some corrosion on the brass surface.
The overall shape shows no distortion from the original form. There is a nice little latch on the battery case. About 14" tall and the base is 6 3/8" D.
There is a little round bulb underneath. I have not tested this and have no idea what sort of battery it would take.
