Coast Salish Artist Joe Wilson is known for his "Salmon Legend" Art. At the age of 16, Joe discovered an interest in Native art through inspiration from his family. He later began studying, carving, and painting under the guidance of master carver Simon Charlie. His colors are bold and unconventional, yet extremely appealing and rich. Joe Wilson's talent continue to bring him the recognition that is reserved for outstanding artists.
The light wooden box I'm listing for your consideration is finished with a satin varnish. The lid depicts a colorful image of Joe Wilson's famous "Salmon Legend" art work. The lid also contains a replica of his signature and the name of his art work.
The box measures 10.1/8" x 7.1/2" x 1.1/2";......... it is 5/8" deep with the lid removed.
This lovely box can be used as a stationary box, jewelry box, trinket box, or to keep old photograph and precious family keepsakes in a safe place.
The box is in excellent condition for its' vintage age and previous use.
Colors are vibrant and no major nicks or cracks noted.
