Original G.E. Pen Light Flashlight50th Anniversary Commemorative Edition
WHOLESALE LOTS
These were produced in 2000 by General Electric to commemorate the 50th anniversary of their penlight flashlight, one of the most popular pocket flashlights of all time. GE did not invent the penlight. Most early flashlights were developed by the American Ever Ready Co. who also were first to market Size AA and AAA batteries.
FYI, they were called "flashlights" because the earliest models were too unreliable and quirky to work for more than a few seconds, at most. Then you had to shut it down to rest and cool down. Boy, that would really hamper police work!
For sale here is the updated 2000 version. The chrome and tin have been replaced by anodized aluminum. The bulb is an improved incandescent version. It commemorates GE's very successful penlight which became the standard medical, automotive inspection, and household flashlight of its time. GE was also the first to offer the slim AAA profile, a recessed bulb and ballpoint-style clicker and clip. Even today it is the preferred all-purpose light for mechanics and medics. Here's why:
DEPENDABLE:
Works first time, every time. Once you put in a pair of AAA batteries (not included) and click the plunger down it ALWAYS works.
HANDY:
Convenient pen size fits in pocket or purse. Perfect for illuminating the contents of your purse, reading a menu in a darkened restaurant, or checking corners of your cupboards.
FOR YOUR VEHICLE:
Equally great for checking under your hood and checking under your seats. A must-have for your glovebox!
INCANDESCENT:
Old-fashioned incandescent light bulb (not blinding LED or COB lights) provides a warm light, with an updated tungsten lightbulb to throw a surprisingly bright light. About 6" long.
FOR YOUR KIDS:
Ideal for children over 5 years of age because they won't be able to blind themselves or their cousins, and so easy to use!
