Pair of Hand Turned Elm Bowls

Description

Up for sale is a pair of Elm bowls I turned on my lathe.  Unfortunately I do not know which species of Elm they are.  The bowl blanks came from a tree that was cut down in Billings, MT.
The smaller bowl is 6 5/8” in diameter and approximately 1 5/8” deep and weighs 7.6 ounces.  The larger bowl is 8 3/8” in diameter and approximately 3 1/2” deep and weighs 1.4 pounds.
Once the bowls were turned and sanded to 320 grit I lightly scorched the bowls with a propane torch to highlight the grain patterns and edges of the bowls.  Then they were finished using Yorkshire Grit and multiple coats of low gloss Tung oil finish.

he bowls pictured are the exact items you will receive. I do not mass produce anything in my shop, rather each item is individually made by me.
