連珠式琴首無太多變化，為常見的方形，琴頸與琴腰分別有三個內收的弧形，與另一側的三個弧形組成一串漂亮的珠子，遠觀像雙進珠相連，故曰連珠式，此樣式為典型的物象命名。連珠式自唐代出現以來，歷代均有名琴存世。《漢書?律歷誌上》：“日月如合璧，五星如連珠” 相傳“連珠式”古琴造型為隋逸士李疑所制，項腰各作三個連續半月形彎入。
