    Description

This clarinet was part of a mixed lot that I bought here on eBay, containing mostly old wooden flutes and flute parts.
Since I'm a flute player myself I can't play the clarinet, and my knowledge of clarinets is limited. So I don't need this instrument.
But the keywork seems to be working nicely. And even
with no knowledge of the fingering system, I
actually managed to play a few notes on this clarinet.
I have consulted a friend of mine who used to play the clarinet some years ago, and she believe that the keys look like
    Boehm system
. But please check the pictures yourself. She also says that this clarinet has the
barrel integrated into the upper joint
, and that it could possibly be dating from the 1930s, or earlier.
On the lid of the small box containing the reeds, the writing says
    "Anches Clarinette Si b"
. So these are reeds for a clarinet
    in Bb
. Since I can't play the clarinet properly, I also can't tell the pitch of this instrument. But with the mouthpiece put on, the clarinet measures
    672 mm
    in total. And
    599 mm
without the mouthpiece. Maybe this will give you a clue.
    It clearly says
    "Buffet Crampon & Cie"
on the bell. The cartouche on the clarinet looks slightly different, and the writing inside is very faint. Therefore I can't read what it says. The mouth piece is stamped:
    "??IEIAN / BREVET / LYON"
    .
I have tried as much as I can to make an accurate description. But please consult the pictures, as they are an important part of the description.
    Postage is
    USD
worldwide. The clarinet will be dispatched as a signed-for letter, with a tracking number attached.
Thanks for looking - and happy bidding!
