All of the art work and collectibles being sold by Adams-Byrd Fine Art & Antiques have been collected and selected one at a time by the proprietor, an art historian with many years of training and experience in university art history departments, museums, galleries, and historic sites both in the U.S. and abroad.  The business has been based in the Washington, D.C. area for many years.  The art and collectibles that we are offering to eBay buyers are special and unique pieces that have been carefully “curated” by us.
This vintage metal collapsible / "folding" metal camping / hiking cup is in good used condition.  It is a great camping collectible, but it is also still in good usable condition -- for camping / hiking / scouting adventures.  There are four "sections" that telescope up or down. Both the base and the lid -- with the wonderful camping scene / landscape in relief -- are in good condition.  It is vintage / used so the surface has the expected scratches / wear.  In order to preserve the vintage / old "patina", we have not washed / scrubbed it.   Inside the lid there are bits of a red residue from something the lid was used for (food ? paint?), but we are not washing the cup since most collectors would not want us to disturb the vintage "patina" of this unusual camping collectible.  There is no insignia for Boy Scouts or Girl Scouts, so we do not know it this was just a generic camping cup or if it was made for a specific organization or group.  From age / wear / use there are scratches and slight "dings", so it would be considered to be in good used condition.  It is not new or totally pristine.  [If you want it to be very clean, we would suggest soaking it in warm sudsy water and carefully using a cloth / a sponge / a soft brush on it.]
The scene in relief (raised) on the lid is the special feature of this cup.  There is a crescent moon in the sky above a snow covered mountain.  In the middle ground along the shore, you can see a tent, a campfire, and trees.  In the foreground, on the water, there are two people in a canoe.  It is hard to tell, but there appears to be a man paddling at the left and a woman seated at the right.
If you love landscapes, this landscape on a vintage camping cup lid would be a unique addition to your collection.
This memento from camping (or scouting?) years ago might also bring back your own fond memories of a great American camping experience!
