You are looking at a beautiful Yamaha YCL-20
Bb clarinet
. This model would be an excellent choice for an elementary or middle school band student. It's in great shape-the key plating sparkles plus the corks and springs work very well. If you look closely, you may find some small imperfections too small to photograph. However, in my opinion, most people will simply assume that it is new! This model has been one of the most popular band clarinets because it's well built and easy to play.
This Yamaha
has been thoroughly reconditioned: It was completely disassembled and cleaned, the keys were hand polished and all new Valentino pads were installed. In addition, the keys were aligned and lubricated when the clarinet was re-assembled. That means that not only will this clarinet be a fine player now, but it will continue to perform well for years with minimal servicing. The current Yamaha student models all come with this same Valentino style of pads (which are more durable), so in that respect this clarinet is just as good as a new one.
I started playing clarinet 56 years ago and these days I restore clarinets exclusively. Over the years I've refurbished more than 1,200 of these Bb models, many of which have been sold here on eBay. So you can read the feedback from other people who bought my clarinets and be confident that you're buying a quality instrument that plays great. I feel I've done my best to ensure this one fits that description. After testing this Yamaha, I've found that it does everything well- it plays easily from top to bottom and has that sweet Yamaha sound. You will be able to play this clarinet immediately with no repairs needed.
This YCL-20 comes with a Yamaha 4C mouthpiece that really brings out the best in this instrument. Also comes with new cork grease and a new reed. The Yamaha case is also in excellent condition with normal wear and protects well. Serial number is 075222A.
