What's a "Big John?" I looked into this and found that the SOUTHERN had a fleet of very large multi-colored, covered grainers to which they named "Big Johns!" Too big for FT that loves to make smaller cars for modest radius Z Scale runners. Upon further research, I discovered that both MTH and Lionel used their Cylindrical Hopper models to depict the "Big Johns."
Perfect! I'll use my ACF 51', three-compartment model for the "Big Johns!" They will be swell to represent a large grainer on smaller home-style layouts!
